The Office of Continuing Medical Education at GBMC coordinates CME activities within the scope of our CME mission statement, maintains a database of accrued AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™, and provides credit transcripts upon request to members of GBMC medical staff. Weekly, monthly and one-time only activities are planned for the education of practicing physicians and allied health professionals in the Baltimore-region and surrounding areas. Although programs are targeted to physicians, multi-disciplinary attendance is encouraged.GBMC is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

I need to cancel my registration. What should I do?
If you must cancel, notify the CME Office by phone, 443-849-3670 no later than 5 business days prior to the activity. No refunds will be made within 5 days of program. Registration substitutions are permitted at anytime. GBMC reserves the right to cancel and activity due to unforeseen circumstances. In this event, GBMC will refund the registration fee but is not responsible for travel expenses.
Is this program approved for credit for nurses, social workers, etc?
Please refer to the course brochure for specific details as to what types of credit are available. Regularly scheduled conferences such as Grand Rounds, Tumor Boards, etc are only approved for credit for physicians.
I need a copy of my CME transcript. How do I get one?
You can request a copy of your CME transcript at any time by emailing Laurie Wagerman or calling 443-849-3670. When requesting a transcript, please give your name, and the dates you would like your transcript to cover. Also include your phone number and either a fax number; email or mailing address.
* Note: Transcripts are only available for GBMC physicians.
I attended a CME program at GBMC but did not get a certificate of attendance. How do I get one?
You can request a certificate to be sent to you by contacting the CME Office at lwagerma@gbmc.org or 443-849-3670. Please give your name, program attended, date attended, phone number and either your fax number, email address or mailing address.
Planning and Approval Process
If you are a member of the GBMC medical staff and are interested in planning a new CME activity, please download and complete the CME Application Form. Then follow the steps below.
- Obtain signatures on application of Program Director and Department Chairman.
- Have all members of the planning committee complete the Disclosure of Financial Relationships Form.
- Submit application and signed disclosure forms to CME Office prior to any marketing of activity.
- Work with CME office to develop marketing materials or have all marketing materials approved by the CME office.
- When approved for Category 1, work with the CME Coordinator to make sure activity complies with all ACCME requirements.
Attendance Reports
It is the responsibility of physicians and other attendees to record their participation in CME programs. For most CME programs this is done through the completion of an web-based survey. Once the web-based survey is complete, attendance is recorded and CME credits are awarded.

CME transcripts listing awarded credits are available by request from the CME Office. This report contains a listing of attendance at all Category 1 programs sponsored by GBMC. When attending a program at GBMC, please be sure to complete the web-based survey or sign-in on the sign-in sheet when available.
