GBMC HealthCare honors the life and legacy of Malcolm Berman—a visionary philanthropist, devoted husband, and builder of health, healing, and hope.

Together, Malcolm and Sandy, his wife of 68 years, changed patient care at GBMC and for Greater Baltimore. Their spirit of giving to make the world better inspired the creation of the Sandra & Malcolm Berman Cancer Institute, the Sandra & Malcolm Comprehensive Breast Care Center, and the Sandra & Malcolm Berman Medical Office Building. In a lasting tribute to his wife, Malcolm named the Sandra R. Berman Pavilion in her honor, a reflection of his deep love for Sandy and their shared commitment to caring for the community.

We extend our deepest condolences to Sandy and the entire Berman family. Malcolm’s legacy is one of love, compassion, and enduring impact.
