Joining in the Celebration

Each year GBMC's Cancer Survivorship Celebration grows a little larger and more meaningful. This year's celebration welcomed more than 550 survivors, family members, caregivers, clinicians, staff, and community members for an afternoon of inspiration, commemoration, and dancing. 

Bob Windsor, who has been a patient of Dr. Robert Donegan for more than 20 years, shared his story of hope and resilience, providing copies of his memoir, Stage Four -- From Diagnosis to Determination, A Journey of Hope, to participants. In his message, Bob underscored the importance of the support of family and friends. 

A highlight of each year's celebration is the presentation of flowers to cancer survivors, whose initial diagnoses were from 1 to more than 40 years ago. As survivors stood, ringing bells, and members of the Berman Cancer Institute team presented each with a flower, the room filled with a sense of joy and community.
