Daniel R Bashari, MD

Dr. Bashari is a board‑certified hospitalist specializing in the inpatient care of adult patients. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. Dr. Bashari completed his residency training in internal medicine at NYU Langone Hospital–Brooklyn, where he additionally served as a Chief Resident in his last year. He then pursued subspecialty training in Geriatric Medicine at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra University / Northwell Health.

Following fellowship, Dr. Bashari joined the faculty in the Division of Geriatrics & Palliative Medicine as an Assistant Professor, where he contributed to clinical care, education, and interdisciplinary geriatrics initiatives prior to his transition to GBMC. His academic and clinical interests include the management of multimorbidity in older adults, optimization of polypharmacy, and the diagnosis and treatment of geriatric syndromes within the inpatient environment.

At GBMC, Dr. Bashari serves as the Medical Director of Unit 52, where he provides clinical leadership for the care of hospitalized medical patients and collaborates with interprofessional teams to advance quality and patient‑centered care. In addition to his clinical and administrative roles, he remains committed to medical education and to fostering evidence‑based approaches to the care of vulnerable older adult populations.
