About Me
Joseph Frenkel, MD, FACS, FASCRS, is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon for GBMC Health Partners Colon and Rectal Surgery. He earned a medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine and did a general surgery residency at Boston University. He also completed multiple colorectal fellowships from Lankenau Medical Center and Institute for Medical Research in Wynnewood, PA, and St. Francis Hospital/University of Connecticut. Prior to joining GBMC, he was Medical Director of Surgical Services and attending colorectal surgeon at Bon Secours Mercy Medical Group as well as Chief of Surgery at Maryview Medical Center, both in Virginia.
