About Me
William B. Karkowsky, MD, is a pulmonologist at GBMC Health Partners Pulmonary Medicine. Dr. Karkowsky earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where he also completed his fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care. Dr. Karkowsky completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center and served as Chief Resident at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.
His clinical and research interests involve the diagnosis and management of severe asthma; specifically, as it relates to unique subtypes of asthma and the importance of personalizing asthma therapy to each patient. Prior to joining GBMC, Dr. Karkowsky served at the University of Maryland Medical Center Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.
