The mission of GBMC is to provide medical care and service of the highest quality to each patient and to educate the next generation of clinicians, leading to health, healing and hope for the community. We want to assure that your visit (or stay) here is comfortable and convenient, and that you are able to take full advantage of the services offered by our hospital.
On campus, there are several resources available to assist you with navigating our facility and utilizing our services. GBMC Visitor Guides are available at each of the main entrance points to the hospital, providing campus maps and information about visiting hours, dining, parking and pharmacy services. Patient Information Guides are available in each inpatient room, and offer comprehensive information about the hospital as well as services available during your stay at GBMC.
Visitors are an important part of your recovery. Our intensive care unit has specific visiting hours to ensure that patients receive the appropriate rest. All units support family members visiting patients as it can aid in the healing process. GBMC cannot accept responsibility for child care during your hospital stay overnight in the Medical Center. Please make arrangements for child care prior to your admission.
For everyone's good health, GBMC is Smoke-free and Tobacco-free. Smoking, vaping or use of an e-cigarette is NOT PERMITTED anywhere on the grounds of Greater Baltimore Medical Center and Gilchrist Hospice Care locations, including all exterior and interior areas as well as parking lots/garages. Smoking is allowed in personal vehicles only.
