A Message of Gratitude, Collaboration, and Celebration
November 24, 2025Dear Team,
As we head into this season of thanks, I find myself reflecting on the many ways in which your commitment to excellence and collaboration continues to inspire and uplift our work at GBMC. There is so much to be grateful for.
In October, we had the privilege of celebrating GBMC’s 60th Anniversary, a milestone that not only honored our history, but also shined a bright light on the future we are building together. Nursing had a major presence throughout the celebration, including among the Visionary Women recognized for their leadership and service. It was a proud reminder that our work is foundational to what makes GBMC a place of health, healing, and hope, as our mission outlines.
It’s also been a season of meaningful new beginnings. Since joining us in September, our new President and CEO, Dr. Paari Gopalakrishnan, has already proven to be an exceptional nursing partner. His ability to absorb and process information is extraordinary. He has a genuine desire to understand (truly understand) our system, our strengths, and our challenges. He leads with presence, curiosity, and connection. He isn’t afraid to shake a hand, ask thoughtful questions, and dive into the work alongside us. It’s clear he values nursing deeply, and with a wife who’s a nurse practitioner, he brings not only professional insight but personal appreciation as well.
Gratitude, for me, is closely tied to collaboration, and this year has been a powerful example of what’s possible when we come together across disciplines to do what’s right. As you’ll read in this newsletter, we’ve strengthened our partnerships with physical, occupational, and respiratory therapy, improving care for patients and creating a stronger sense of teamwork and shared mission. Our new immersion room in the Simulation Innovation Learning Center has elevated how we train and prepare as interdisciplinary teams. And in one especially moving instance, we witnessed seamless collaboration between our Emergency Department, nursing staff, Child Protection Program, social work, security, and external agencies to ensure the safety and dignity of a vulnerable patient. That kind of precision doesn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of deep trust, shared values, and a collective commitment to excellence and doing what’s right.
So, as you take time this season for rest and reflection, please know how deeply grateful I am for your work, your heart, and your voice. You are the reason GBMC continues to grow stronger, more connected, and more capable of delivering the care our community deserves.
Sincerely,

Angela "Angie" Feurer, DNP, RN, NEA-BC
