Each year, a group of creative, kind people gather to build scrapbooks and support a cause close to their hearts: the Oncology Support Services (OSS) program of the Sandra & Malcolm Berman Cancer Institute. The program provides many services – including the support of a Financial Navigator and Wellness Classes – for which patients are never asked to pay.

Thirteen years ago, Ambulatory Practice Manager Connie Herbold and Director of Outpatient Infusion and Support Services Dawn Stefanik combined their love of scrapbooking and a firsthand understanding of the value of OSS and launched the first ScrapFest. Thankfully, the organizing committee has grown, along with the event. Today, ScrapFest continues to be important fundraiser, with the emphasis on “fun.” Participants not only compose memory books,; many also win door prizes and baskets of goodies raffled off during the event.

Over the years, ScrapFest has raised more than $64,000 for the Berman Cancer Institute’s Oncology Support Services.
