GBMC HealthCare today announced Michael C. Pulido, MHA, SPHR, will join as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) on August 31.
Michael brings more than three decades of human resources, operational, and executive leadership experience, with much of his career dedicated to complex healthcare organizations. His background spans workforce strategy, employee and labor relations, talent acquisition and retention, compensation and benefits, leadership development, organizational performance, and healthcare operations.
Most recently, Michael has provided strategic human resources and healthcare operational consulting through MCP Leadership Consulting and served as a Senior Client Executive with OneDigital, advising healthcare organizations on workforce strategy and employee benefits.
A significant portion of Michael’s career was spent with Mosaic Life Care, formerly Heartland Health, in St. Joseph, Missouri, where he served from 2001 to 2022 and advanced through a series of senior leadership roles, including Chief Human Resources Officer, Chief Administrative Officer, and Chief Operating Officer. During his tenure, he helped lead an integrated healthcare system serving a 35-county region with approximately 5,000 employees. His responsibilities encompassed workforce strategy, employee engagement, leadership development, organizational performance, and healthcare operations. The organization was also recognized with the 2009 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.

"Michael succeeds Anna-Maria Palmer, who is retiring after nine years of dedicated leadership at GBMC. I am deeply grateful to Anna-Maria for her many contributions to our organization and our people, and I wish her all the best in retirement."
Michael holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Houston. He is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and has been active with organizations including the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Society for Human Resource Management.
