Our SAFE, Domestic Violence & Child Protection team provides trauma-informed care to victims of all ages in a confidential and non-judgmental environment — always at no cost to the patient. The team delivers comprehensive medical and forensic exams for victims of sexual assault, child abuse, domestic violence, and human trafficking.

Beyond emergency response, SAFE nurses also lead community education initiatives to help individuals recognize the signs of abuse, promote safety, and prevent future crimes.

Held annually on Father’s Day weekend, the GBMC Father’s Day 5K & 1-Mile Walk brings together runners, walkers, families, and community partners in a powerful show of support for our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This meaningful event is more than a race, it’s a celebration of hope, resilience, and the strength of families whose lives have been forever changed by the care they received at GBMC.

GBMC’s NICU, one of the largest in the region, provides advanced, compassionate care to more than 400 critically ill and premature babies each year. The GBMC NICU combines cutting-edge medicine with family-centered support to give our smallest patients the strongest possible start in life.
