Nurse Residency Program at GBMC

The highest level of recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center

Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) Nurse Residency Program has achieved accreditation with distinction, the highest level of recognition, from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). GBMC’s transition to practice program is comprised of monthly NRP seminars for new graduates, a comprehensive unit-based orientation, and service line specific education classes. GBMC’s Transition to Practice seminars focus on professional development, critical thinking skills, leadership growth, evidence-based practice, work-life balance, and patient outcomes. The program is designed to enhance patient care by providing continuous support and guidance for new graduates during the transitions of their first year. Throughout the year-long program, each nurse resident receives peer support as well as an individual mentor.
