On a misty Friday afternoon in April, 675 generous and dedicated souls gathered at GBMC to Walk A Mile in Their Shoes and raise more than $290,000 for GBMC’s Sexual Assault Forensic Evidence and Domestic Violence Program. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Walk A Mile in Their Shoes has raised more than $1 million since its inception, all to support the SAFE & DV Program.

The funds support a program that helps some of GBMC’s most vulnerable patients and asks them for nothing in return. Honorary Walk A Mile Chair, Baltimore Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh, inspired the crowd, shedding light on the program’s mission and inspiring attendees to walk the GBMC campus in honor and support of the program.

As GBMC HealthCare Board Member and Walk A Mile Chair Alexis “Lucky” Thompson has proclaimed, the increases in attendance and fundraising success are a testament to the momentum she and her committee are building.
